Why smoothies? Smoothies made with whole fruits and vegetables are quick, easy, nutrient dense, and full of beneficial plant fibre. Not only does fibre help nurture a healthy gut microbiome (it feeds the ‘good’ bacteria), but it also helps to regulate blood sugar by binding with the sugar to provide a slower uptake of sugar into the bloodstream. Smoothies are easy on the digestive system, so are a great choice when breaking-fast first thing in the morning, and in times of illness when you want as much energy as possible to work on healing & repair.
